Tammy’s Playhouse will be closed on the following holidays:

- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
These days are considered paid holidays for Tammy’s Playhouse only if they fall on an operational weekday.
In addition, Tammy’s Playhouse will close for 2 weeks of vacation and 5 personal days per year. The primary caregiver will give an advance notice of at least 30-days to all parents prior to any closed days with the exception of emergencies or illness. No charge will be assessed for these days. Please have a back up child-care provider for these occasions. Tammy’s Playhouse will not be responsible for finding alternate care for your child.
ENROLLMENT POLICY
The following forms must be completed for each child before child-care services begin:
Admission Form
Child Assessment Form
Authorization for Emergency Medical Care
Authorization for Dispensing Medication
Emergency Contact Form
Medical History Report
Discipline and Guidance Policy
Release Form
Registered Family Home Caregiver/Parent Agreement

SICK/VACATION POLICY
Parents are to notify the primary caregiver before 7:30 a.m. when their child will be late or absent. A No Call No Show Fee will be charged along with their child’s weekly fee if the primary caregiver is not contacted. Your child will be given five free days after three months of attendance. These days will not accumulate or be refunded, and will be erased at the first of the year. Parents will be responsible to pay 50% of the weekly fee to hold their child’s spot up to one month if their child needs more than one week off for vacation. After one month, the parent will be responsible to pay 100% of the weekly fee or their child-care agreement will be terminated and their child’s spot will be filled. Parents are responsible to pay 50% of the weekly fee up to two months if their child is ill. After two months, the parent will be responsible to pay 100% of the weekly fee or their child-care agreement will be terminated and their child’s spot will be filled. Parents should contact the primary caregiver if their child will be absent for more than three days.
All children who have any of the following symptoms will be sent home:
* Fever of 100 degrees or more
* Vomiting or diarrhea
* Reddish or pink eyes, with or without drainage
* Croup cough, consistent nasal drainage, with or without fever
* Any undiagnosed rash
* Abdominal pain
* Headache
* Unusual tiredness
* Unusual paleness
* Irritability
Sick children should not be brought to daycare. Parents will be called to pick up their child due to illness in order to protect other children from exposure. It is important that children with communicable diseases such as strep throat, chicken pox, impetigo, conjunctivitis (pink eye) and lice not attend daycare until the child is symptom free. A child who has lice must be nit-free in order to be readmitted to day care.
When a child becomes ill or shows any of the above symptoms, the parent is responsible to pick up their child within one hour after being notified.
IMMUNIZATION POLICY
Before any child begins child-care with Tammy’s Playhouse, I must have on file the current and complete up-to-date immunizations. There will be no exceptions to this rule. A “complete date” is to include month, day, and year vaccination was given.
MEDICATION POLICY
Medication should be given at home, whenever possible. Any doctor prescribed medication to be given during the day must be authorized by both physician and the parent. The prescription must be brought to daycare in a container appropriately labeled by a pharmacist with a completed Authorization for Dispensing Medication Form.
EMERGENCY CARE
Tammy’s Playhouse caregivers are trained in First Aid and CPR. Caregivers will use this knowledge in the event it is needed. If a child receives a minor cut or abrasion while in our care, the caregiver washes it out with soap and water. A Band-Aid and/or cold pack will then be applied. Any further treatment must be done at home.
If the caregiver feels the wound requires medical attention, the parent is notified. If a serious accident should occur, the caregiver is instructed to contact the 911 emergency systems. A parent is then notified. If a parent cannot be reached, persons listed on the Emergency Contact List are notified.
EMERGENCY CLOSING
In the event of severe weather or emergency, the day care will be closed and all parents will be contacted by 7:00 a.m. No refunds are made for that day.
If inclement weather or emergency causes an early closing, the primary caregiver will call the parents to notify them that their child must be picked up as soon as possible. If the parent is unable to come, the parent must make special arrangements for the child to be picked up. The primary caregiver must be notified of these arrangements.
LATE PICK-UP POLICY
A parent is expected to pick up their child no later then 6:00 p.m. A fee of $1.00 per minute after closing time will be charged. The fee will be added to the following weekly rate. Parents should plan ahead for emergency pick-ups by having a friend or relative prepared to cover for them. Parents who are consistently late may jeopardize their child’s enrollment with Tammy’s Playhouse.
RELEASE OF CHILDREN
A parent must sign the Daily Attendance Book when their child is brought in and picked up. A Release Form must be completed and signed by a parent during the enrollment process. The Release Form provides a list of persons authorized to pick up their child. Persons who are not authorized to pick up your child must also be noted on the Release Form. Any persons other than the child’s parent will need to show proper identification (Driver’s License, State ID, Military ID, etc.) before your child is released.
Parents are responsible for all authorized persons they choose to pick up their child. By law, if an authorized person from the Release Form comes to pick up your child and appears under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Tammy’s Playhouse caregivers must still release your child and immediately contact the 911 emergency systems. If an unauthorized person attempts to pick up your child, the parent is contacted immediately. If a parent cannot be reached, persons on the Emergency Contact List will be notified.
TERMINATION POLICY
Parent and primary caregiver agree to provide a two-week notice to terminate a child-care agreement. Parent agrees that if a two-week notice is not given to the primary caregiver prior to withdrawing their child from Tammy’s Playhouse; the final two-weeks including a Termination Fee will be owed. Our collection process will begin after 7 days of non-payment.
BEHAVIOR GUIDANCE POLICY
Every attempt will be made to work with your child in all situations. However, if your child’s behavior is unacceptable and does not improve with the primary caregiver’s interventions, the following steps will be taken:
* Parent will be notified of the occurrences in writing.
* A meeting with the parent will take place to discuss concerns.
* Parent and primary caregiver will come up with a behavior guidance plan.
If these steps are ineffective, I may ask that your child be withdrawn from Tammy’s Playhouse. A two-week notice will be given.
MEALS AND SNACKS
Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Your child must arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. in order to have breakfast. A snack is offered in the morning at 10:30 a.m. and in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. Parents will be responsible to supply their child’s food only if they are on a special diet.
The primary caregiver should be given information about food allergies or other special dietary concerns for your child during the enrollment process.
TREAT/SNACKS FROM HOME
Throughout the year I will have holiday parties, birthday parties, pizza days, etc. Parents will have the option to pay a small fee that will not be mandatory for these special occasions instead of bringing treats from home.
Advance notices will be given.
QUIET TIME
A daily quiet time of 30 minutes not to exceed two hours as required by licensing law will take place everyday in the afternoon.
Sleeping mats will be provided. Children are encouraged to bring a blanket and/or a small pillow from home to help them rest comfortably. Blankets and pillowcases will be sent home every Friday to be cleaned.
FIELD TRIPS
Field trips may be planned for the children. Parents are notified in advance of the destination and time of any field trip. The parent must sign a permission form and any additional cost for the field trip will be the parent’s responsibility.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Children are to be dressed appropriately for inside and outside activities. Children should have a change of clothing (appropriate for the season), which is kept at the day care in a bag labeled with their name. All clothing and outerwear should be labeled. Valuable items should not be brought to daycare. Tammy’s Playhouse is not responsible for any lost items.
SANITATION
Caregivers and children must wash their hands after using the rest room, before eating a meal or snack, and after playing outside. Caregivers will monitor children while washing their hands and will offer assistance when needed. Caregivers and children are to dry hands with paper towels that are provided and dispose them in the appropriate trash bin.
Caregivers try to eliminate the spread of germs by using a sanitation process on objects and surfaces, which includes the following steps:
1.
2. Rinse with clear water
3. Soak in or spray with a disinfecting solution for at least 10 minutes
4. Rinse with cool water
5. Allow the surface or object to air-dry
HANDLING OF BODILY FLUIDS
Objects or surfaces that have been contaminated with blood or bodily fluids are cleaned immediately. The area is scrubbed with a disinfecting bleach solution. Caregivers use disposable gloves and paper towels to clean the object or surface. All objects are set to air dry. The caregivers and children wash their hands with soap and warm running water after coming in contact with blood or bodily fluids. Parents will be contacted immediately.
PERSONAL HYGIENE
Parents should have their child ready for day care every morning. Caregivers will not be responsible to dress, groom, or bath your child during operational hours unless your child is participating in water activities, soiled, has a spill accident or during night-time care services.
